Ricky Williams Retires From NFL This Year

Ricky Williams a former Heisman Trophy winner is planning to retire this year.

34 years old Ricky Williams told to Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday he is planning for retirement after this season. As he already talked for retirement before the 2009 season and with saying he wants to play two more seasons before quits.

He was the 26th player in NFL history to reach 10,000 yards rushing and reaching the plateau in the season finale at Cincinnati.

As williams said: The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life. He also says that i pray that all successive adventures offer me the same likely for future success and most importantly fun as for what's next. Williams is excited about all the opportunities which is ahead like will continue education, run the Ricky Williams Foundation and for present opportunities.

Before the 2004 season he retired previously when facing four game suspension for violating the league's policy then he returned in 2005 and left to spend the 2006 season with Toronto of Canadian Football League.

He scored 73 touchdowns over his career and eight of them on the ground. His last score came on December 4 against Cleveland.

Williams also said - I have to thank coach [John] Harbaugh and the Ravens organization for the opportunity they gave me this year. I had so much fun and really appreciated the chance to finish on such a great note.
